In 1923, Mumma Pretzel Bakery started rolling and twisting handmade pretzels in the city of Lancaster , PA. The ingredients of the pretzels that you buy today are the same ingredients used in the pretzels your grandparents bought. And, the pretzels are still hand rolled and baked fresh with local ingredients. This old fashioned pretzel tradition has expanded to Whole Wheat, Garlic, Cheese, Oat Bran, Dutch Regular, and even Sourdough flavors of hard pretzels. We offer decorative tins, special gift packaging as well as the mixing and matching these tasty little snacks for all types of events. Whether you are fund raising, running a promotional event, or are interested in a special retail relationship; we have many options and are open to being creative.
The history of the pretzel in Lancaster County Pennsylvania is rich. Most folks realize that Pennsylvania Dutch pretzels are tough to find outside of eastern Pennsylvania . Our neighbors in New Jersey , Delaware , Maryland , and even New York visit us regularly at our Lancaster Central Market stand or our Fourth Street bakery. Quite frequently we are shipping to California , Arizona , and throughout the United States . We have heard that it is hard to find a good pretzel in California. Well, perhaps we can solve that problem. A few of us have found that pretzels are a great compliment to wine, and we’ll ship’em in our traditional flavors or without salt if that suits your fancy.
